Editorial Policy

How we research, write and update the guides and tools on Luxury Apartment Design.

Research and accuracy

Our guides are based on widely used interior design standards (for example, centering art around 57 to 60 inches from the floor, leaving 30 to 36 inches for walkways, or sizing a rug so furniture legs rest on it) and on practical testing in real apartments. We avoid invented statistics and we do not attribute quotes to people we have not spoken with.

Measurements and tools

Our calculators implement the same rules of thumb described in our articles, and each tool page explains the formulas it uses. Results are planning guidelines; rooms, products and building rules vary, so always measure your space and check manufacturer specifications.

Cost ranges

Where we mention prices, they are typical ranges to help you plan, not quotes. Prices vary by region, retailer and season.

Renters first

Many readers rent. When a project involves drilling, painting or replacing fixtures, we flag it and suggest reversible alternatives. Always check your lease and get written permission from your landlord before making changes.

Updates and corrections

We review guides regularly and show the date each article was last updated. If you spot an error, please tell us; we correct mistakes promptly.

Independence

Luxury Apartment Design does not accept payment in exchange for coverage or favorable mentions. If we ever add advertising or affiliate links, they will be clearly disclosed and will never influence our recommendations.
